I think airtel lacks an emotional connection with kenyans like safaricom does.I dont know why pple have a tendency to protect and market safaricom for free out of their love for the brand.
Airtel uses some very combative marketing strategies that ends up painting safaricom as an underdog and airtel as a bully,and many pple feel the need to protect the underdog.Am guilty of that sometimes.
The way Menza attacks safaricom in his adverts and press briefing does not resonate well with his potential clients.I think airtel should concentrate on its own value addition and assume safaricom does not exist that way they might win more customers.
