Sometimes öne goal may seem like four. On behalf of other football fans i would like to give my condolences to the red devils for losing to burnley, may the Lord help you through this difficult time.

I bet that's the last time the devils will be ahead of the reds in the EPL 09/10

Ai,si ni mapema sana bwana, why don't we talk after Christmas? That said,I fear that if SAF does not bolster the team during the Jan tranfer window, there'll be no title to look forward to. Right now I believe only Chelsea can withstand an injury plagued season, depth is what wins titles.

I am scant worried, nor am I going to fall prey to the usual naked attempts to grab world headlines,by the Arsene fanatics in their unbridled excitement borne out of modest success of their team. No reminder should be served to anyone at this stage,in a bid to help them percieve the time and place in which we stand. The race is called MARATHON.

M Water,

Being A Manutd Fan you should know that Manutd usually draws or loses one of their first 3 games.
Though I am not making any excuses for them cause I also thought we would winn yesterday and then have a hard time either against Wigan on sato or Arsenal next week.

And then that penalty that Carrick took, what a poor one! He just passed it to the Goilie!

Anyway I would rather we lose this early in the season so as to correct our mistakes then to suffer later in the league.

Those who are celebrating Manutds loss yesterday, will not be doing so come May

being a liverpool fan,and having surrendered the lig to manU last season,i will measure my comments about the loss.

1st,after the totenham loss,we were written of...manU lose, and ppl write them off! ..trust me,they will be back.

that said, the loss to burnley is the type of game ronaldo would have won for them(not even drawn)...the guy just seemd to get manU out of sh*t holes even wen they deserved to lose....wigan comes to mind.

This race will be btwn liverpool n chelsea....

Ati its a marathon..Man utd wil not win anything if they rely on players like Owen and Berbatov...lets see if there will be any changes in the next four games (wigan, arsenal, spurs & man city)
@ enigma...its a bit too early to predict who will win the league but one thing i am sure of is that it definitely will not be liverpool.

Gotaa bask in this one!!! BURNLEY! It had been noted that Utd had won all their prior 17 games against promoted teams. This was a shocker.

BTW bila the Ronaldo factor i think Man U currently lack the creativity & bite in midfield. lest we all forget they mostly played with five accross midfield last season (different variations; depends on whether u look at it as 451,or 433 with wingers tracking back),and now back to 442 in the 2 games i have seen so far which essentially means a midfielder less and more responsibility with the central mids.

My analysis:

Anderson & Scholes > Get as many bad games as gud,not reliable
Carrick -> cant beleive i once saw a guy try convince a pub that he's better than lampard & Gerrard. Mostly plays the ball back/sideways hence the high pass success rate at the end of matches
Hagreves > Injury,Injury,Injury,Injury. Really gud holding MF if & when fit.
Nani> BTW does this guy have a 2nd name. doesnt lack the creativity, but often drifts in & out of the games i have seen him in.
Ji sung park > ????
Fletcher -> Man U's Answer to Igor Biscan
Giggs > probably the only one who who's the exeption to the rule but given his Age don't know how he will cope with 50+ games.

If Man U can recover from the injuries, esp in defence then theres a reall chance they'l be close in May.

Chances of chealsea runing away with it,well i dunno, but rem the special ones 1st season when he had 10/10.

I think this season will be closer and if by the end of sept Chealsea and Arsenal have lost to a team outside the big 4 then the premiership should be won by 82-85 pts.

Here we go again!
Last season we drew our first match and everyone had written us off.
The burnley game was just a freak of nature,a statistical anomaly. The number of chances we created,we should have won 5-1. Owen will start banging them in big time!
SAF isnt worried, why should I be. Anyone who watched Man utd last season knows either Ronaldo scored in games we would have won without him or he was such a focal point that he was the only one likely to score. He didnt defend, cross or give assists.
Man u are going to be unpredictable post Ronaldo.
No team has ever won the league 4 in a row,I hope its us!

Creativity...thats what man utd lack at the moment. As for those who are saying that they always start the league on the wrong foot may i remind u that this was the case last season probably because Ronaldo was recovering from an ankle surgery...man u started winning most of their matches after he was fully fit (October). I still insist that fergie has to go back to the transfer market and sign a playmaker..what he has at the moment is just an average team.

Good analysis @ispoa,the question marks on Park should equal to hardworker - period. I'll have to agree with Taz on this one,Man Utd simply does not have the depth it had last year, defence still suffered without Rio and Vidic but the strike force compensated for their absence. I can't imagine what would happen if Rooney was injured (thank God he's not a weakling) but the fact remains hatuna depth.

I remember last seasonTorres being out for a few games and L'fools losing a few and drawing several, that's where they lost the title. The title is won by beating most of the mid table and so called small teams, not by beating the big 4. Last season Man Utd lost the big four at least once and still went on to win. Bila depth huwesmek, and I reckon Chelsea has more depth than all the other teams. i.e Essien akiumia wako na Lampard,,Drogba akiumia wako na Anelka na Malouda na Kalou,Terry akiumi wako na Carvalho and so on. Injuries to key players in the same department ni noma, and when Rio & Vidic were both out (as they are now) Man Utd clearly struggled.

I'll be ecstatic if Man Utd win another EPL,there'll be nothing more to prove. CL remains the title they need to win two or more times to be counted with the Bayerns & the AC Milans.

To all the haters in chief, last season 08/09,Man United won 2 games, scoring 5 goals in the first 5 league matches. The previous season 07/08,Man U won 2 games, scoring 3 goals in the first 5 league matches.

The stats speak for themselves. We all know who won the premiership in those 2 seasons. Rule out Man U at ur own peril because we've shown the past,we are the only team that can do the impossible.

Ronaldo or no Ronaldo, this is Manchester United, the best in the world, only second to Barca.

That said,my gut feeling tells me we'll not beat Arsenal, actually we'll lose to them.

Tottenham......!!....If i were a coach meeting this team in the coming two months,i would have reasons to be very worried. This team is playing a blend between donkey kicking and rugby.........the worrying thing is that they are winning....and convincingly....!!
