I finally sold off my last holdings in the NSE, for the first time in over 5 years I am not an investor.

I have made good returns over the period and cannot complain, however I feel that with the deepening of the investment markets through entry of bond trading, and the improved access to mortgage, the stock market will not be returning as much as it used to in terms of capital growth, however, it will certainly pay handsome dividends to the long termers.

When the foreigners begin to troop back and I will consider returning.

I am very nostalgic because I have made very substantial gains despite the fact that my portfolio is limited by my current career.

I know all about the bull and the cow. Anyway, yes there were few tears but I started profit taking way back in November. And the last sale was actually still double my purchase price.

Trust me I got no regrets on the returns or the timing of the sales.

The thing is to know when to quit, and yes I will probably buy some of your shares some day.

But the beauty with shares is not the purchase price but rather where you see the share being in n years.

@Bwenyenye, I was an investor, not a trader and the thing is I feel the cash will work better elsewhere for the time being. Inflation @ 16%, high oil prices and expected reduced harvest to me means the market may remain depressed for awhile.
