I don't think so. What made you arrive at that conclusion?
Most of us (myself included) expected the acquisitions in Ug and Burundi to reduce the profits significantly plus we know the acquisitions are expected to return good profits sooner than later.

The verdict is out.

The market is not impressed.

Stock has ticked up JUST 20 cts or so from yesterday's depressed price.

WTF!!!!

current price fully factored "Expectations"
the only reaction would be if actual results CONFIRM those expectations or not..
..if not..price tanks..if yes..price unchanged..if actual performance way above expectation..price ups..
..of those three...KK just confirmed.. so pricing is right..and can either remain there..or lower..depending on extent of "mood swing"..

..if bored u sell..if excited you buy.. so how do you judge mood of traders today on KK? smile

Nothing to do with expectations, the whole market is just subdued for whatever reasons that might be.In a different setting the price would have reacted differently and will.

I disagree with you @proverB. This resuklts exceeded expectations especially on the EPS growth and dividends. The market pricing the stock is just irrational. If one has cash just buy, you're assured of a 5% div yield anyway...

I agree with ProverB. The results were just as expected. Half year PAT was 1.18B. What were you expecting them to post for the 2nd half? But as you say, there's a 5% dividend yield. Lakini siku hizi every company is dishing them outLaughing out loudly

there is no one overriding expectations.. chances 99.9% of all expectations out there did not include ur Ug-Burundi factor... and expectations vary all the way down to most idiotic... eg.. "KK has a petrol station in LOLiOndo, therefore, all these cars stuck there will buy petrol only from KK.. therefore better profit".. and that is reason enough to buy..

Bottomline.. market reflects all expectations on weighted average. there are those that belive KK fuels KQ.. seriously..and when kq buys a plane they ask if it's right time to buy kk.. smile

Clearly we're on the same page.

I think the only thing holding NSE down is politics - the Hague issue and next year's elections are a big thorn in NSE's ass. Our parliamentarians selling our sovereignty to the west despite warnings by Mutula, the recent opinion poll that suggested a run-off btwn RO and Jomo's son who might not be available and the uncertainty around the 2012 elections are enough keep good investors away.

BBI will solve it
