Now I get it. When Wenger did his appraisal, he was told 'We need Trophy'. He thought he heard 'We need Profit'. Since he is french, the 't' in profit is silent. The two words sound similar, dont you think?

Arsenal believe has performed excellent. With man city splashing the billions and Chelsea being what it is, who would have given Arsenal a chance.

The problem with Arsenal is, The team has been bewitched by a leading ManU mrogi! And ManU fans know that!

Even if Ferguson switches to Arsenali they shall keep shooting blanks, infact it can be relegated!

TAZ,
Don't discount 2.5M loss, it simply means that if in the previous half year you had made say 50M, then in this current half you have a 52.5M drop in profits......HABARI NDIO HIO!@!!!!

Now you get the point. If he wants us to look at it in terms of a drop in profit, then its actually 29m+2.5m=31.5m

Huyu jamaa yuko kwa box leo.

@Jus Blazin...........The other day i saw you guys arguing about the meaning of the phrase "KIHII KIAO".

How do you handa a guy whose first soccer post is about a "Man U mrogi"?We shall "handa" the dude after he makes 10No. comments. Even then he must do it in a language we can all understand.

BTW, didn't you realise how RAO used to ignore comments from Mungatana and lately from Muthama/Kuttuny? He reckons that answering them will elevate their status. Poor Muthama/Kuttuny.

mwenza,I'm poor in matters soccer.Siasa is my domain. I'm enjoying reading your exchanges here.

But your statement below is not true. Raila popularised Mungatana and Kalembe Ndile. Do you remember statements like 'Who is Mungatana, in November last year did you know someone by the name Mungatana?' and his attacks on Kalembe calling him 'highway robber'.

Anyway I guess someone advised him well, he now seems wiser!smile

@Kadonye.........You may be right. However one statement on Mungatana from RAO is still very fresh in my mind.

Do you remember this particular statement...... " WHEN A DOG BARKS AT YOU, YOU DONT NEED TO RESPOND TO IT, YOU SIMPLY TELL ITS MASTER TO TETHER IT"

@mwenza, I remember. By the time he made that statement, he had pushed Mungatana into the limelight. Same thing happened for Kalembe.

Key figures

* Operating profit (before depreciation and player trading) of £12.6m (2009 – £29.3m) with, as expected, a reduction in the contribution from property.

* Sale of 50 apartments at Highbury Square generated revenue of £22.5m (2009 – 261 apartments sales generated £96.6m) and an operating profit from property of £3.3m (2009 - £11.3m) reflecting the lower number of apartments now left for sale.

* Property business continues to be debt free with all sales contributing to Group’s cash position of £110.4m (2009 - £101.0m).

* Further significant commitment to a determined policy of investing in the team with the re-signing of several key first team players and Arsène Wenger as the Club’s Manager.

* Football operating profits (before depreciation and player trading) of £9.3 million (2009 - £18.0m) reflect this increased investment in football wages and also timing differences in the number of home games played (2010 - 10 home matches in first half of 28 matches, so far confirmed, for full year / 2009 – 12 of 27).

* Significantly reduced profit on player sales of £4.0m compared to £33.9m for the prior year.

* Changes in property and player trading, which are essentially one-offs, impact overall result for the period – loss after tax of £2.5m (2009 – profit of £29.2m).
