@ The General,

I am worried coz MK has never really exercised his true powers and privileges ! It is the people around him who enjoy those trappings in his blessings ! From the time he was sick,back in 2003 upto date and you can see for yourself the resultant ! Even Lucy had her own share !

5 cheers to marende! It was a masterpiece of modern thinking...the law is meant to serve man..not to enslave him(man)....and when the law sucks of what use is it to man?
i join everyone applauding the ruling cuz it was made with the National accord in mind.

@kivairu,
If you do not live by the rules that makes you savagery.If you don't like a certain law(s),there is a whole process to take care of that known as legislation. Lakini mengi yamesemwa....sina hamu ya kurudia.

Wachana nao,wait until the next illogical demand is made with threats. Simply put,Mr Marende didn't kill anyone by his ruling but he acted no different from the vigilantes in Kirinyaga in applying the law. I'm done here.

@ B.Timer's - 'I dont know if in UK or USA for that matter,they side step the law to feed the prevailng public mood.'

There is everything wrong about that statement.

Ever heard of the number of times that the Bush government 'side stepped' their constitution in the name of war on terror?

If you have not then just start with - aclu.org to put you in perspective.

Whereas this blind belief that the US and UK cannot just do anything wrong is plain rubbish it also shows you that the rule of law as you call it can be very subjective - not saying that it is in the instance of this discussion.

In the US today we have a sane govt which truly believes in the rule of law.
If a certain piece of legislation is bad,you repeal it through the laid down channels,you dont elect to disobey it.

Obama and the Democrats in the US are considering prosecuting former officials in Bush administration for breaking the law.
That is the way of civilised society.
Obama may eventualy opt to pardon them,but the message is clear.
Pardoning does not absolve one from the guit.

Now they're saying they'll make their own appointments in their respective ministries without consulting the president. Will it work?
