Cry Me a River, Arsenal – by Trophy Collection

You were my fans, you were my team,
But you didn’t know all the ways I loved you, no
So you took a chance, made other plans
But I bet you didn’t think that they would come crashing down, no

You don’t have to say what you did,
I already know, I found out from Fergie,
Now there’s just no chance with you and me,
There will never be, don’t it make you sad about it

You told me you love me, why did you use kids all along,
Now you tell me you need me, with no experience on the payroll,
Arsenal I refuse, you must have me confused with some useless cups,
The bridges were burned , now it’s your turn to cry,

Cry me a river, Cry me a river-er-er,
Cry me a river, Cry me a river-er-er,
Cry me a river (Cry me, Cry me),
Arsene Wenger-er-er,
Cry me a river (Cry me, Cry me),
For another year- er-er,

Reality check for Us&all. This game was only going to end with one winner - ManUtd, a wounded lion playing at home. I have to say VDS was really terrific. Man of the match for me by a mile. This defeat has to be a major psychological blow for the Gunners in their quest for a premier league title. Glory Glory United!

I'm telling you! SAF must have a very low opinion of Arsenal. That line up was full madharao! He definitely showed Wenger what he thinks of his team. I mean, seriously!?

In future people will wonder how Arsenal ended up with one goal with zero shots on target. Actually, with zero shots!

And for those who don't remember what happened in '99, here is a link for you. Enjoy.

What went down in '99

And putting it all in context:

'99 was a very good year...

ati Arsenal should outsource the Trophy cabinet, coz winning trophies is not their core business!

I'm told they hired a fellow 6 years ago to be cleaning and polishing their trophies on 'commission' basis. He has submitted his resignation letter. He has a family to take care of and six years without a salary is more than he can take!

That was not madharao, it was more of respect, or should I say fear. Fergie knew that Arsenal would attack relentlessly hence chose to field 7 defenders. Unfortunately for us it worked for him...

It was neither respect nor fear. These players were deployed in the midfield. Some of our midfield players are out injured while others were being saved for Tuesday. That's why I always insist SAF is an evil genius!

.....exactly, the line up took into consideration the fact that we have a game kesho, furthermore of those 7 defenders, 3 were in the midfield so it's not like they were all defending, rmemember before the game Wilshere had suggested that the game should be easy for them since as United we had a midweek game the following week hence some players would be reserved, that was a beautifule kichapo!!!!

Are you sure?? I dont think it was out of fear. The 2 defenders who played out wide were constantly in the Arsenal box. If you've never noticed, whenever Fergie plays Arsenal, he does so with counter-attack in mind. Let them possess the ball but we hit them on the counters. It always works. Arsenal are happy to play the ball, United are happy to score. This time round, 2 things made him make a choice of 7 defenders. First, injuries. His wingers, bar Giggs, were out injured. Valencia was making his first appearance in 5 months. Second, UCL on Tuesday.

They were beaten by an under-strength United team. A midfield containing Fabio, Gibson, Oshea and Rafael, with Brown at right back is not the strongest United could have played. Yet that was enough to inflict more damage. Come May, Arsenal will be facing a midfield of probably Nani, Fletcher, Carrick/Scholes, Anderson, Valencia. Now that is more like it...

True, dissing Arsenal is like having sour grapes. Its not funny anymore...

The most effective way to stop Arsenal is to play with as many defensive players as you can get, Man Utd played with 7 defenders from the back to the midfield and it worked for them.....We had more of the ball and so many shots on goal but Man of the match Edwin Van Der Sar was fantastic on the night. We just couldn't score and they were able to counter attack and take their chances well. The only disappointing fact about the match was that it was a cup game (we were knocked-out). We now focus on the premier league with no mid-week games and hopefully no more injuries.
