Hey guys, Put Peter Kenneth in the picture. The guy has already shown interest in the presidency;can he bring the Gatanga Magic to the whole of Kenya. We need to do an overhaul of the politicians. No more chances should be given to previously corrupt individuals, dynasties and what have you.

Kenya will continue to be ruled by those people in the Aristocracy for the next like 20-30 years. Kenyatta borrowed this system from Britain and he created one here in Kenya using land. This was done by giving some people in the ruling class massive land... these people became very wealthy. Moi perfected it using other means like goldenburg, Kibaki had Angloleasing... which did not go full strength... still born.
Who are the members of Aristocracy in Kenya who are also politicians?
1) Kenyatta Family 2) Moi Family 3) Kibaki Family 4) Raila Odinga - recruited by Moi 5) William Ruto - recruited by Moi 6) George Saitoti - recruited by Moi 7) Nicholas Biwott - recruited by Moi 8) Njenga Karume 9) Henry Kosgei - Recuited by Moi 10) several others--- some not active politicians
It will be hard for someone to be president in Kenya in the short term unless you are immensely wealthy. Look at the recent by-elections for Juja and Makadara... you will understand the thinking of the electorate / voters.
We the middle class may think of people like Karua, ole kiyapi, Abdikadir, etc... but we are still very few to effect any change at the top.
Running for presidency is a very expensive affair. The new constitution makes it even more expensive. Only people in the Aristocracy class can afford.
America is different. Anyone can be anything as people will support your line of specialisation any time and fund it. That is how Obama became president. Common people gave him money and voluntered to campaign for him. Remember almost everyone in USA is in the middle class except those who are very rich. The new constitution might help Kenya to go American way but in the next generation - 50 years from now... if all goes well.
So to be real.... if Uhuru & Ruto are out of the presidential race... they will pull Raila out with them. The next likely politician to gain from this will be George Saitoti.... maybe Kibaki could see that already.... how do you explain the fact that this guy is currently responsible for 2 most important ministries in Kenya goernment today?- Internal Security and Foreign Affairs (he is responsible for matters internal and external of Kenya).
My 2 cents (USD)

Martha vs Abdi - i will go for Abdir Martha vs PK - I will go for PK Marende vs PK - I will choose Marende Abdi vs PK - I will choose Abdi Marende vs Abdi - I choose Marende
Actually, someone tell this Marende man to stand... he has my vote!
Martha may be iron lady, but with the sort of MPs she is hanging around with and bringing into bunge, i'd rather keep a distance.... You cant claim to be enjoying food in a house full of "shut"... You sweep it off first.... isnt that how it goes? that's what made me change my mind about her...

The flight of fantasy will come to an abrupt end as soon as the whitsle for 2012 finish goes! Such names as Abdi... will be nowhere near Kenya's high political table. Given our proples thinking pattern insofars as politics is concerned, dont expect any suprises. One of the current movers and shakers will be allowed passage by his peers. The masses will follow!! Dunia ni msongamano..

I think if we are looking for a politician who is not tainted/ not associated with anybody 'dirty' no one would meet that standard.....even in old democracies, politics is dirty. At the end of the day- i am NOT looking for an angel,I am looking for someone with even 'half a heart' to look after the welfare of the country.

@nostoppingthis - RAO dated and defended assassins as long as it could get him to State House. Openly condemning the shedding of innocent blood was an after thought when they could not agree on mikate. http://www.youtube.com/w...mHmU&feature=relmfu
Throw in mahindi, molasses and an attempted coup for full effect. But I could be wrong. He could just be the reformist, democratic, corruption-free president we need. nostoppingthis wrote:Is this what RAO intends to achieve by dissing akina WR? Hope i'm not killed for asking... All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

......and that is the sad reality, the others only exist in our fantancy, a point taht should be noted is that being a president really needs somebody with balls, some these fellows can freak out immediateli immediately the future of the nation is placed on their shoulders!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

I dont understand why we are too quick to dismiss Iron Lady - what we need is a 'radical' of sorts. If she had the power, she'd introduce public hanging for corrupt individuals and flogging for minor traffic offenders - and this is the only discipline Kenyans understand.
Unless we get someone 'radical' but with decent knowledge of just how far this can be pushed, then maybe we canNOT do a 'singapore' in the next 15 years. Until we can instill discipline, we aren't going anywhere.
For me, PK, Abdikadir fail on that one aspect only.
I am sort of resigned to another several years of the usual suspects!!

Ati Marende, where will he get the votes....so far i've not seen anything from this guy that would make him a suitable presidential candidate. I have to agree with @Kadonye, he's so overrated!
