Not yet... Voice remains #1 for now. Revenue [not profits]

But will it ever get there 2-bob? The demand is so high at 3.5 Maybe in 2012 if we have similar incidents as we did in 07

Jamani was talking about how much I think its worth. It used to charge Ksh8 when it was around ksh5, it is now charging between 3-4 on average hence price has to go to the same level.
That storro of data revenue is fake. Safcom earns 84% revenue from data

84 % from data! Really?

I think Orange presents a more realistic challenge in the Data arena than Airtel in the short term. A stable 3G network requires a dense rollout of Node Bs, which takes a lot of time and money. This will not be achieved in weeks, more like months. The initial nodes might not adequately support users who connect, especially if the publicity and marketing is notched up,...service level collapses to EDGE or worse, GPRS. Airtel management have to cautious how they go about this, it needs to be a massive upfront investment, undertaken with great technical skill. They need major equipment manufacturers ( say Nokia-Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei etc etc) with 3G experience in on the act; KDN? I remain a bit skeptical. I could be wrong of course. Anyone with more insights?

KDN has a very big coverage in the country I think they have the biggest cable network ,I might be wrong But I think from where I come from They are the Only ones with the cable(shags that is).

Another thing I hear safaricom had a working contract with KDN b4 safaricom launched an assult on its market.SO I think KDN have a reason to pay back what safaricom did to its market share by partnering with safaricom bitter Rival.Meralli might be smiling all the way to the Bank right about now.

I foresee safaricom buying AK although I hear safaricom are partners in Jamii telecoms (uncomfirmed reports)
