I also feel 10yrs is such a long period. Private placements(if available) and OTCs not bad. You can also go for high dividends payers and hope for capital gains as well. @Fyatu; How much do you intend to put in?

Fellow wazuans...i'm just wondering which stocks in the current NSE are best buys for someone willing to wait 10yearsd'oh!javascript:insertsmiley('d'oh!%20','/Images/Emoticons/eusa_doh.gif')

why 10 years? I buy under valued stocks and if they become overvalued 1 month after purchase, i sell.

exactly...once overvalued sell...why wait for 10 yrs...even after 3 weeks, liquidate....

@Sparkly....i came across an online article http://www.fool.com/pers...high-can-stocks-go.aspx

which got me thinking about our local market in the long term.....I would like to know the history of record bull runs in the NSE with the aim of finding out if one (massive bull run) is anticipated in the next ten years...

@Jerry....i'm seriously considering sourcing 500K before May this year which i will work to build to 1M in May 2012. I'm wondering which stock will give me 1000% value return in 10 years. I'm also wondering if the NSE has the potential for such a fete....remember i'm a green horn in this business

You really need to consider and wonder before making a move.... take a statistical look at companys prices 10 years ago and do your wondering and considerations after looking at historical trends, but be warned historical data remains historical it doesnt in any way mean you will have the same moves. Good Luck!!

@slimboss, private placements are offered to a select section of clientel who meet a basic criteria. An example is the recent CIC private placement to saccos and their members. Another one was by Family Bank (in 2006 I think) to account holders. These are good examples with a high probability of having an IPO in the near future. Coop bank followed a similar route and those who were in b4 the ipo are now 20 times(excluding dividends) richer. Once you are in, OTC trading among shareholders is possible.
