I miss good English, written and spoken.
I see at least three mis-spellings per day, sometimes more. I see statements like:-
a) That was so first!
b) Thise (or This) things are better
c) Or someone starts a sentence with have, had 'have been told its not available'..'had checked on it'
d) Worse still 'Ave been told....
e) I 'no' her.. Meaning i know her..
And the worst bit is that it is becoming increasingly common on official correspondence, even job applications!
And i am not even talking about the L8r, nite, ttyl, pple, mayb...
Oh, i miss good English! ....above all, to stand.

 Nice one.
On a serious note though, I also get tired of all the misspellings and grammatical errors in the press. What are editors and proofreaders doing? In a place where thought is abandoned, freedom can become a curse.

English is an evolving language. You probably have no problem using such words as camouflage, nose dive, radar, roadblock, spearhead etc. They are proper or good english words, right? They are now, but they came into the english language after being incorporated from military slang.
This is an English text in 1384:
Oure fadir þat art in heuenes halwid be þi name;
þi reume or kyngdom come to be. Be þi wille don in herþe as it is doun in heuene.
yeue to us today oure eche dayes bred.
And foryeue to us oure dettis þat is oure synnys as we foryeuen to oure dettouris þat is to men þat han synned in us.
And lede us not into temptacion but delyuere us from euyl.
Here is the same text in English in 1611:
Our father which art in heauen, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heauen.
Giue us this day our daily bread.
And forgiue us our debts as we forgiue our debters.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliuer us from euill. Amen.
Here is the same text in English in 2011:
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Who knows, this might be the proper english version in 2100:
Yo, Bid Daddy Upstairs,
You be chillin'
So be yo hood
You be sayin' it; I be doin' it
In dis hood and in Yo's
Gimme some eats
And cut me some slack
So's I be doin' it to dem dat diss me
Don't be pushin' me into no jive
And keep dem Crips away
Cuz you always be da Man
Skraight up.

@Ms Mkenya, I hear you. Perhaps you can take this a step further...
I came across a book on Correct English, and another forum on the same. Maybe you can begin another thread where we exchange common grammatical and syntax pointers, learn new words, you know... (all the boring stuff )

I love that year 2100 prayer. If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love - Maya Angelou
