Hi good people,

I broke the only key for my ride (Toyota fielder) and on calling Toyota Kenya they told me ot will cost me approx. 50k to replace coz eti it has a transponder which needs to be programmed blah blah blah!

If only i can get the black cover coz all the stuff inside is intact.

Any wazuans with a clue on where i can have it fixed at more pocket friendly cost.

Thanks
Vj

cut your keys and get an alarm installed, the remote will give you the keyless entry your keys formerly gave you.
Before you can be be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid.

Got to Josim, they will get you a duplicate. Only thing you wont open the doors remotely but yo can as well just install the alarm to do it.

@ all, its the black cover (like in photo no. 3 above) which shattered and broke into mingi small pieces, was left with the metal bit & the transponder inside.

Tried the key ya kukata ya muhindi/jua kali but nothing, car wont start.

Finally got sorted at Falcon off Msa road @ 8k! (ouchh) - replacement cover only.

@ Simonkabz, ur comments are kinda juvenile and uncalled for, this forum is above your kiddish remarks! As the saying goes "its better to keep quiete n be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all the doubt!!" Tafakari hayo.

Asanteni.

I think you can go for two options.
1. First you have already mentioned that, to call our car dealer.
2. Secondly, you can get your car keyby calling some car key specialist like Autokeysquad and get your lost key replaced by them.
