The effects of the encroachment on the mau are evident...everyone is a affected by it and yet the issue is being politicized...with politicians now concerned so much about ''our people''...Not because they care one bit,but because they are beneficiaries of the same. They just want to protect their ill gotten shambaz.God have mercy on all of us.

Kenya will soon be a desert, unless our kalenjin politicians lower their populist campaigns. See what hepened to Guinea the country! The whole country is almost a desert, started like the kenyan mau scenario!

The future is already here!

For the kalenin politicians to keep yapping about 10000 people living in Mau illegally and forget about the millions of kenyans whose life depend on Mau is appalling. Congratulations the PM for your stand!!!!

Juz as we memorably hold Prof. Wangari in high esteem for fighting to save our Uhuru Park,Karura and the Aberdares....so will posterity hold RAO and like minded leaders. It's a pity that our land is only 3% forest!

I am sorry to say this that Kenya still needs dictators like Raila, and Michuki who will check some politicians. Ruto wants Kshs 36 billion to be given to 10,000 title deed holders, some illegal. This money is 5 percent of Kenya's GDP,can recarpet all roads in R/valley Province. Bravo PM and Michuki, work must continue..........

I wouldn't congratulate a person for doing what he should have done years ago. Let's not politicise the mau issue,we ought to protect all our forests and plant newer trees.

Sober ..I have been following your comments on the PM ....why are you so much against anything he does? anything personal ?....to me anyone who works for the interest of this country has my support.....I do not support any party for now and do not belong to any.....but anyone working for the better of our future generations......The Mau forest is a matter of life and death....Lakes and rivers are drying up .........it needs bold leaders....I don't agree with leaders like Uhuru Kenyatta....who for the sake of their large tract of lands grabbed by the family ( the size of Nyanza province) ......... want even those who grabbed the Mau forest ....to enrich themselves .....to be compensated.......

Raila & Kibaki .....take the bold lead on Mau issue..... You have a majority support.....The truth will always stand...Be courageous ......

i have nothing against some politicians. it's only that they try politicising each and everything in their way. when there was the programe to clear all the building on the road reserve, there was no negociation and the bulidings were demolished. no compensation. the worth of the houses destroyed is worth more than what is being offered to the 'Mauans'. this is a matter of life and death i agree, and if it is to him why be soft and buy time? our forests continue being depleted every hour.

Sober, even a hater would congratulate the PM on his stand on Mau,don't bring up other unrelated issues to cloud the right stand he has taken on Mau!!!!!

If the govt managed to remove squatters from the Aberdares without threats of war,why not the Mau? The issue is a matter of life and death and Ruto and his ilk should be locked up for incitement

The Kale MPigs thought they would hold ODM at ransom. One thing (and they have been warned by Sirma) is certain. They are alienating themselves from other Kenyans (except UK and Mbugua). The sooner they wake up the better.Kudos PM on your bold stand on an issue international. In the meantime, wachilia Kimendero anyoroshe those Mau thieves.

If you make the issue about Raila you will need to change the issue when Raila changes.

i quite agree with sobber....

i will not conglatulate anybody until i see the first mau settler scuttling out of the forest land....reason,we have been treated to the same hot air baloon situation in the past and nothing has been done so far...

lest you forget, having a stand is one thing, actions is another!!!!

I am just wondering what their next threat will be,they have been told to put up and shut up or walk.........that is the only card these guyz had. So many Kenyans are suffering coz lack of rainfall that nobody is ready to listen to these fellows!!!!!

kaigangio, brewer & sober....... I agree that we need action ....but words had to preceed actions.... atleast now we know who stands where ....we also know the elephant blocking the way for the other animals ......... and majority of kenyans will judge them harshly....Kwanza this youthfull MPs are a real let down....why are they so tribalistic ...and the way we grew knowing no tribe?..

It looks like we will remain in a situation of.......... 'Kazi kwa vijana Pesa kwa wazee'..... forever.............since the vijana cannot think out of their tribes
