Typical payuka. this thread is obviously by someone who doesn't grasp the intent on use of emergency lines or is deliberately misrepresenting it!

How do you expect the central govt to manage effort and communication in an emergency situation affecting multiple geographic lcoations where relief agencies, chiefs, volunteers and Kenyans of goodwill are all involved?

Really, and the respondents too???

The drought and hunger situation in Kenya plus particular locations is not news to anybody living in Kenya, one does not need to simply be in news launching white elephants that are not going to help the populace in any case, when you watch news and see those emnciated children and cattle, do you ever imagine that they have handsets to make calls to Nairobi for help,

FACT IS: They will not even know that this facilty exists, ABK!!!!!!

There is no network where these hunger stricken Kenyans are. But again why does the government need to be reminded what they already know.

@2miles i wonder too

Somethings leave you wondering if we live in the same country,the problem with people like Esther feeding on 6 course meals at the expense of taxpayers make them to believe that hunger in the country is mere speculation and maybe by establishing that hotline then maybe it will be confirmed to them thats its really true

I could not resist this one!!

The "launch" of this helpline is pure mockery to the citizens of this country and what is more is that the Govt is still denying that some kenyans are starving! There is a ministry of planning and another one called special programs or something to that effect. Now, what do they do if not come up with long term solutions to such as famine and starvation?

Yes we need professionals to run this country and not political clowns...read idiots who cannot manage the taxpayers money!!

Bure kabisa!!

....."We are in your full support, and if it means undressing, we will do it for your sake," Mrs Murugi told Uhuru.
