Kindly tell me when the new labour laws (maternity & paternity leaves) became operational...

@kamaa...........become operational in which country?If you mean in Kenya then you dont live in Kenya.

I never follow my dreams,instead I hunt them down and beat them up into submission...!

Labour Relations Act
Occupational Health & Safety Act
These two were not contentious thus their implementation date was as gazetted i.e. 01/03/2008.

Employment Act 2007
Labour Institutions Act 2007
Work Injury Benefit Act 2007
Implementation date is 02/06/2008. (not to be backdated).

What is remaining is the setting up of the labour institution to oversee the dispute between the concerned parties..

Paternity leave (2 weeks) & 3 months maternity leave are fully operational besides the employees annual leave...
