You can see on page 14 of that link that,
1) customer has increased from 40 to 42 million across africa.
2)Traffic details shows that minutes of usage increased from 12.78 million mintues to 14 million minutes.

Now go to page no 17

3) ARPU in africa is steady at 7.3 US$, marginal dip from 7.4US$.
4) As per bharti airtel's strategy average minutes per user increased from 112 to 120. ( far below india's average minutes of usage of 449 minutes / month )

Result is down primary due to rebranding cost in india and depreciation of indian currency against USD.

Now any questions ?

My only concern is that Kenyas will be the losers in all these. Slow growth of telco and jobs to India, Just visit thier offices at Parkside and see for yourself the number of Malbaris running thier african HQ from Kenya, i bet even the outsourced IT to IBM will follow suit...
And if they succeed to dent safcom proper, i can bet you, safcom will follow queue and leverage on outsourcing to sustain thier profits, these they can do easily, and kenyas will call with less than a bob, but no technological advancements, unemployment and tax etc..
