Dear Wazuans, It saddens me as a Taxpayer when my had-earned taxes are used for drought/famine projects to enrich a few... 1) I think GoK plans to spend BILLIONS on so-called relief operations. These expenditures will have little or no oversight. The goal will be to scam, scam & scam. Grain Cartels 2) I have a strong feeling a portion of the Funds will end up with the Ocampo 6... [uhuru is the Finance Minister, ruto has his people in the Agriculture Ministry, we know who mutharua fronted for...] Those maize/grain farmers are mostly from RV & Central... The sellers will be the 'big guys' not the small farmers! 3) Even if all relief operations were 'clean' the same suspects suffer from the drought/famine EVERY 2-3 years. There is a systemic problem. Natural selection would have wiped them out! We should let nature take its course! 4) Huge Families - The breadwinners can barely feed their families in a good year. In a bad year, they have even more kids!!! Why am I paying for this guy's sexual gratification? I should be paying for his castration! Or hysterectomies. I feel sorry for the kids until the camera pans out & I realize that if I fed them all... I would need food aid too! 5) Economics - Either the pastoralists live like their forefathers [no aid, no government funded medicine, etc] or they need to get with the program. Spending billions buying their emaciated cattle, goats, etc is NOT fair to the more sensible farmers or taxpayers! 6) BTW, some of these guys have HUGE herds. Heck, they should be giving me aid!!! [Do they even pay taxes?] Why don't they have smaller [better quality] animals who are more productive? [That is common sense] I think some of them use 'drought' as an excuse to sell their emaciated animals at a premium to KMC. So between the politicians [& their friends] & these idiots [or crooks] who provide an excuse for me to be scammed... what do I do? Your brother in paying higher taxes, VVS

@Vvs, valid points there.Some sharks must be reaping from the famine.Also a friend of mine in the army was telling me how some of those people are so used to food aid that they will not aim to improve their lives.But you have to understand this thing called govt.It gives idlers stipends in the west from hard earned taxes of others.It is a social,political and economic thing. If govt tries to change these people there will be big time opposition to it

Well, I know it sounds 'evil' or harsh lakini this is year in, year out... Bw.Kazi who works hard, has 2 kids [family planning], pays taxes, legit work/biashara, no handouts but due to no fault of his own falls sick... goes to a public hospital & is told there are NO drugs! Why? Well, the cash was diverted to feed Bw.Ngombe who has 7 kids [+ 1 on the way], has never paid taxes [KRA ni chakula, ebu nijaribu?], is always 'tunaomba serikali' for food [well, every 2 years], has no incentive coz relief food is available... My point is that MOST of these families of 9 [+ 1 always on the way] don't really contribute [in TODAY's society + economy + reality] to the well-being of Kenya or Kenyans... In the 'old' days, pestilence, infant mortality & famine took care of the 'excess' population. Sounds crude. It is. Lakini 7 kids [+1 on the way] whom you can't feed or clothe is not fair to the other Kenyans...
