90 is too good to think of though it won't get there this year, what i'm kind of sure of is that Kcb might be going past 30 before July reasons being:
1. As the triton loan had been provided for previously which directly affected earnings & with the positive court ruling we expect some increase in earnings to the tune of the recovery.
2. S&L can now provide upto a billion to one client on mortgage financing & are going to provide the same in UG, TZ, SS & Rwanda.
3. Improvement in the cost to income ratio

That KCB idea of lending sh 1b or 6B to one client is not a good one.Do you know why KCB looses money in cases like Triton Oil scandal? Its because you lend sh 5B to one client and then he defaults paying.....that's why James Mwangi of Equity is right. He can lend sh 1B to one client but he prefers 10,000 people to borrow that 1b that way, even if they default,at least some will pay.Anyway, my 2 cents.....

1B To 10,000 who mostly don't knw what they r doing is riskier than 1B to one who knows what s/he is doing. My 2 cents as well...

I hear you. KCB has had so many problems with 'big' defaulters. Investors can only hope that Oduor has ensured enough checks have been put in place to screen potential loanees. With government shareholding going down, maybe there won't be any more favouring

I'm not sure whether its 6b but what i know for sure is that its above 1b. Its better to lend 1b to 1 person who's credit score & rating is good rather than 10,000 who are perceived as risky. Going forward, with the reduction of govt shareholding there'll definately be a reduction in bad loans. Why do you think that SCBK has got the lowest default rates & yet so profitable!

Hey Wawazua!!

This could be an exciting year when such optimistic forecasts are being thrown around!!

I bumped into an analyst who was telling me that they are seeing KCB at 90 bob!!

I was like you are out your mind. Personally I think when KCB can make like 3 bob eps then we can see 60 bob in 2011/2012.

A 200% flipper from today kama Scan last year.

..spectacular dream this was! sigh!!!! Eh?
wonder what the "analyst"'s qualifications are.
