what is the import duty on spare parts?

I might need to import some rare spares, please can someone tell me what the import duty is for:
1 - new spares
2 - used spares (I recall these had been banned but perhaps there was a change?)

OK, thanks. Just to be clear, if for example my parts are worth US$ 500, shipping US$ 200, insurance cost of 5% of %500, i.e. $25 then its 15% of $725....US$ 833.75?

Just checked from The 2007 Common external tariff & the rate is genrally 10%

Your math is correct.
Although the rate is 10% for most parts, I used 15%
to be on the safe side since there are some items which have higher duty.
Then of course the KRA will charge you IDF fees of 5000/- 0r 2.25% of CIF whichever is higher.

For what vehicle? If you wanna import, you may wanna begin your search here . Look out for the supplier who has a minimum order quantity of one piece. Alternatively, take a walk around Dar=es-Salaam road as well as Baricho road and other streets too in Industrial area Nbi.
