KCB is a stock with value. At a p/e of 15 it should be headed towards 32 by March. And with its business strategy, especially S&L, profits will be high. The profit growth will be comparable to Equity which is at a P/E of 25.44. Equity is likely to reach a max and profits will be taken before it rallies again

What if JM comes out an announces an acquisition of HFCK? It will be Equity's very own S&L

I think 32 is fairly conservative for KCB. It should be trading a little higher

The only thing that I know is that JM said, ''We are not in HF for the dividends''

That was one hell of a quotable quote. It really said a lot to people who listen!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@guru Seems @cnn has answered your question/s about KK

- Regional expansion = sales to increase from 40% to 60% in 2 years. Less reliance on Kenya. KK is developing Tanzania as the import hub for Great Lakes Region [Regional markets are more profitable anyway]
- KK will not sell at a loss in Kenya unless for cashflow or strategic reasons. Note that there is no more interest to minimize IMPORT costs under OTS since it will all be passed on to us under the new rules.
- Diesel is 40% of fuel sales [from earlier discussions] & the margins seem better than petrol.
- Shift of business from Independents to Brands. Why would I fill up at a no-name station for the same price as going to KK?

Guys , would anyone explain why the competitor i.e Total Kenya has on the other hand been on a price range of shs 28-33.. all through i believe for the last 3 years.while they bought off Caltex like a year ago thereby should actually make them the leader in the market. To me it seems that one invest in Total for dividends only .

I beleive SM's prowessness will be tested w/ his kk buy the way no other stock has.. I still believe the kk buy wasnt in good timing.@ stockmaster you shld have bought k.c.b because technically its about to explode because once we convincly jump that 24.00 barrier and europe doent scare investors with its debt woes its all the way to 35.00 ...But this gugy (SM) has nerves. Posting his trades to be judged by the public ..

I also think one of the best investments for the year is Kcb @ 23-24:
1. With the real estate financing @ Msa, deal with Nhc and a successful rights issue that will be dedicated to improvement in mortgages. I expect an improvement in interest income (might make more than 500m in interest in one deal)
2. A prescence in EA & are on the profitability curve in Tz & Ug. Good prospects in SS coz of the renewed optimism.
3. Good dividend yield.
4. A healthy asset base & loan book.
5. Vast branch network

stocksmaster still has some 260k lying around. Could be waiting for a 'correction' or an announcement in the coming days to pounce on a stock he has his eyes on.

Kcb has landed on a mortgagae financing deal in Rwanda and thus that branch might break-even by the 1st half.
