I agree. Was recently in the US, and my cousin had a 256K line at home, it was incredibly fast!!! Cant compare to my 256K at home here at all. I think local internet lines are lousy at best. Too much sharing!!

Exactly and this causes confusion among consumers cause someone from Access kenya for example will claim his 512K is really fast(since they offer dedicated and he's using it alone.)

But on the other hand a guy using Zuku 512K will bet that it is the slowest thing (since they are on shared network and he might be sharing that line with like other 8 people thus giving him a max of 512/8 which is 64K)

What amazes me is the US isps are notorious for sharing...they load lines...yet they still do better than us. Makes you wonder what level of sharing goes on here...I wouldn't be surprise with 1Mb line having 100 or more subs...

I got connected to ZUKU the other day and my authoritative observation is that the slowest tariff i.e (Turbo1 at 1MBPs and kshs 999 unlimited access per month) is faster than safcom's 3.6MB modem.

Been using Turbo 1 for 2 months, at the monthly cost that is equivalent to three days Bambanet. I will soon apply for their cable and get rid of DSTV.

Hi guys, i use a 1Mbps from a KDN reseller, the net is so perfect for my 10 computer cyber cafe and 15 wifi clients and i only pay 8,000 per month. If anyone within Nairobi wants a connection i can refer you to someone. Plus they do the survey plus the connection before installation. Installation fee is only 14,000 inclusive of that month's pay.
