It is regrettable that Kenya has not found a solution to it's IDPs three years down the road. A clear testimony of lack of political goodwill and of misplaced priorities by our leaders. A number of questions come to my mind:-
a. Why should the government relocate IDPs to Mau Narok in lieu of taking them back to their former homes and provide the necessary security and support? What happened to their land/homes/properties?
b. Why are tribal leaders not ready to develop a strategy that will complement government's efforts in the resettling exercise? Why can't the so-called KKK-axis be utilized in this scenario?
It is unsettling to witness the stand-off between the government and Masai morans on the resettlement of IDPs in Mau Narok. Certainly, this will neither be a safe place for them nor a sustainable option.

They could move back to their farms if we deal with the main cause of the chaos which was negative ethnicity NOT stolen elections or incitement

With a population of 841,000 http://kenyaeducationgui...-housing-census-results I think the Maasai have already lost the population battle. They may succeed in keeping these poor IDPs from settling in Mau Narok for now, but in my view, their long term economic fortunes will only be secure if they invest more in education, allow greater integration rather than promoting exclusion and believe it or not, by accepting that a larger population while it poses short term challenges in competition for resources also offers opportunities for growth by increasing the market and talent pool. I am sure that those who evicted any group during the 2007 PEV have already started feeling the economic pinch. In the same vein, I would attribute the rapid economic growth of Nakuru to influx of lower profile but economically active IDPs. Our collective fortunes as a country are ultimately pegged to embracing diversity.

IDP and squatter solution = land reforms.

Support Orengo's land reforms and the future will be peaceful and on top of it, Kenya will enjoy food security.
