the market requires optimism that capitalism with its boom and bust cycles will continue indefinitely as predicted by kondratiev- expansion, stagnation, recession.

I hav not read nor watched the predicted doom but even without been told US and europe are in trouble if their economies do not grow next year Most of the banks are nationalized most of them having 90% of there shareholding being held by the Govt.Iran and North korea being a major headache More money will be pumped into the military not forgeting afghan n Iraq.In the US there is the increasing burden of welfare due to Job Loses and the mother of them all The health bill.
