This shows the complicity of the French. I transited through Abidjan Airport in 2005 and I was shocked to see French soldiers were the ones guarding the facility. Not a single Ivorian in sight - while Ghanians were customs officials. The French are too obsessed with the extractive economy and keeping their puppets in power to even bother with a modicum of service. My heart bleeds out to these guys - it could easily turn out as massive ethnic cleansing yet Cote d'Ivore is the economic engine of that region. If they go that way, it will have a knock over effect on all the economies that use CFA. On another note - the Ivorians have a very tasty snail sauce and very inspiring music. Lets remember them in our prayers.

I do not wish what I saw in Kenya on anyone. I pray for them to realise that no one gains when you fight and maim and kill your brother. No one at all!

I pray that we were the last idiots to have been deceived in that way. Let them learn from us.

@simonkabz, Ocampo has no power except the power you give him. Kenya has given him too much power. Has he visited UG, Congo and Sudan where he has already prosecuted people successfully?

But arapsonkot, Ocampo et al do not change people mindsets. Theirs is very simple, you do something they are interested in and they will get you. The rest of the time they will sit around idling till someone beckons them.

Its up to fools to choose to call them first by killing. And fools are never in short supply....

Looks like the ivorian problem will be hard to sort with its complementary religous divide mix. maybe a coalition straightaway and ban the two/three bigs from the next election. By the way it seems very hard for an almost 50/50 religious divide to work. Iam thinking of nigeria. Cant tell religious% in others like senegal, niger, gambia. but i would think they have a good mix of christians. but maybe religious not the real problem in Ivory??
