-some people claim Alexa ranking can be fiddled with
-most businesses through advertising buy their position e.g. on Facebook

@muganda, yes, it's true, Alexa's GLOBAL ranking is easy to fiddle with, but it's very hard to fake the REGIONAL ranking since the spambot will use proxies from random places.

But the question is, how good or savvy are alexa.com? A good programmer worth his trade can use sophisticated algorithms to rank a website higher, i hear they are called blackhats, they are giving google sleepless nights...

Haha, actually blackhats are not as sophisticated as people give them credit for, and you can spot most of them from a mile away. Most websites worth their salt have effective measures against black hatters. These spammers usually use the tactic of 'make quick money->get busted->rinse and repeat'

@ muganda. Its true what you say Alexa is biased. The website rating biased towards sites about web marketing, search marketing, and web site publishing and number backlinks. Their ranking does not give a true picture in terms of web traffic,hits and pageloads

Wazua is said to be No. 117

But looking at the names of some of those sites that are said to be top 100 sites visited in Kenya, I wonder how correct it is. Some of them appear so irrelevant to Kenyans, I wonder who visits them.
