I don't get what the big deal is. Surely how many constituencies can you have in Central? Should we divide constituencies using acres? I think this Ligale team has done a commendable job. What's your view?

BBI will solve it

2012 - Please answer just 2 of the many querries being raised?

1. Why were Langata and Westlands divided into 2 yet Dagoretti with a similar population was not?

2. Why was Vihiga (with a population of about 90,000) divided into 2 yet some others with higher population were not???? (hint hint - where does Ligale come from smile )

@Mpenzi
Is it about population or representation and distribution of resources? Population cannot be the only determinant as it is not a constant.

BBI will solve it

@2012, I have screamed a million times here that parliament's main role is REPRESENTATION.Thus population must be the main criterion.Thus the issue Beth was raising about Dagoretti vis a vis Lang'ata and Westlands holds weight
What a wicked man I am!The things I want to do,I don't do.The things I don't want to do I find myself doing

do not mislead people. population alone means nothing. talk of population density to bring aut the picture of how concentrated people are.
African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

Sober - ok, please enlighten us about pop densities in Dagoretti, Westlands, Langata and Vihiga and the consequent allocation of constituencies.

Only in Kenya do people agree on a formula and then go ahead to ignore it on implementation. It was agreed that constituencies with small populations will be protected and this was to pacify the arid and semi arid areas. It also turns out that Nyeri County was favoured by Moi and is overrepresented. Such a scenarioas the argument goes is working to the under represented Kiambu County. Height of impunity is when someone gives themselves powers that they do not pocess. If you agree on something, bite the bullet and live with it. The exercise is supposed to make everyone happy but some people want to take advantage of it.

All well what you say though could you provide evidence as regards the alleged favouritism and "over-representation" of the Nyeri County - and Moi favoured this county? - this is news indeed!. And could answer the questions above about Dagoretti, Westlands, Langata and Vihiga.
