Would be great if Safaricom was to sponsor Gor Mahia. The only problem is whether there are structures in place to ensure proper use of any such funds. Thus any such sponsorship ought to come with a rider of Safaricom regularly auditing the accounts or something like that. @nostopping' The article i have read on MSC's sponsorship of Epsi says they will give accommodation, food and 1 M bob for remainder of the season while details about next year's sponsorship are still in the kitchen. My take is that the figure might end up being higher Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

I wouldn't get too excited about these sponsorship deals.....This is not the first time Mumias Sugar are sponsoring a football club, they had their own team (Mumias FC) playing in the league some few seasons back but it collapsed after they withdrew their sponsorship. Same thing happened to the great Oserian FC......Btw both of these teams were performing very well in the league.

Kidero amefanya mzuri. If it gets higher, Gor and the rest ziko kwa shida...Gor fans may take it out on Kidero

There is a difference between a company forming its own team and sponsoring it and a company sponsoring a team already with a large fan-base. The latter situation is what makes the sponsorship of Ingwe exciting and welcome. He who can express in words the ardour of his love, has but little love to express. - Petrach, Son. Elder....i'm not against club sponsorship but i'd rather have the likes of Safaricom & EABL sponsoring the KPL instead of one single team. It would make the league more competitive and professional. Look at what the Supersport deal has done in just one season.
Very few clubs can survive a whole season without Sponsorship.

Very few clubs can survive a whole season without Sponsorship. I agree with the KPL needing sponsorship but it should not be an either or scenario. Whereas the KPL revenues should be used for the betterment of the league generally each club also needs to establish and maintain revenue streams and one way of doing that is through some form of commercial arrangement with one or several corporations. I would imagine a company like Safaricom and EABL can have such type of arrangements with more than one club.
