The goal was Perfectly okay but the events that preceded it were not.
1) Nani was clearly held while in a goal scoring position. That was a straight penalty with the possibility of a red card - it was not given!
2) Nani handled the ball. The ref didn't see that coz the goalkeeper simultaneously went for the same ball. That should have been a free kick with the [slight] possibility of a yellow card to Nani for handling the ball on purpose - that is if we totally ignore (1) above. The ref didn't see the ball being handled and therefore didn't give the free kick. The goalkeeper knew this too and that is why he took the ball and went on to restart it.
3) The goalkeeper clearly restarted the game - by the throwing the ball slightly ahead of him - which is common practice if the ball hadn't gone out of play. So the goal stands!!!
As @KenyanLyrics says, play with the whistle. Simple and clear. You cannot rely on previous (mis)judgments to make current decisions. Ni hiyo tu.
Bravo Nani. Quick thinking. From lying flat on his back to the ball shaking the net - all in 10 seconds!! Obviously I am biased. I am Man - U damu.
