Borrow from your uncle 700 .Buy one hundred maize @ 5/= buy a Jiko @200 .Look for a good location .You are in business. Sell each maize @10 hence get 1000 that day .save eat 100/= save 400/= repeat as you live with your uncle………..

Repeat the cycle daily.

Per month you save 26days x400 =10,400, Per year 124,800. Join a Sacco. Borrow two times your savings you have 374,400/= . ……….You buy a second hand pickup at 350,000 which you use to supply other small scale traders as you repay the loan.

Yes you can

Hey people,

I would refer you o the article http://stockskenya.com/n...?stk=1002&top=10967

Is what we are discussing building us up or cutting each other down. The new CEO has what it takes to be there. Just let it be... Let us build each other up. The NSE shares shall continue to be traded at the same price to ALL kenyans.... so why the husstle?

Why cant every tribe have its own stock market halafu tuone. Why is it that only kuyos living around nairobi buy pick ups from maize roasting? Why is it that luos are claimed to be sharp and blessed yet they have never come up with solutions to kenyas problems and they have a dependancy syndrome. Why is it that i dont have any thing worth mentioning about other tribes? If you really want to make money, hang around those with money.watch around the world and any place where we have a population explosion like central, you will see a pattern of entrepreneurship, the reverse is true.all kuyos are not rich and all jangos are not sharp.
that day you will realise that its individual effort that will make you achieve your goals the you'll be at peace

IF IT'S TALENT HOW MANY USELESS TALENTED PEOPLE HAVE U SEEN?IF IT'S HARDWORK HOW MANY MISSERABLE ONES HAVE U SEEN?PERSISTENCE IS THE GAME...

Obi 1 kanobi,

What i meant was that NSE holds public money and therefore,it does not fall under a private company regulations. Sorry the 'not' did not come out.

Ofcourse Mwana has a valid point, but guys here have turned his views into what tribe does what and what tribe does not do what' that was not his intention.

I have no problem in who gets what kind of job in the public sector so long as they are fairly selected as is the case of Mwangi, what am oppossed to is the issues highlighted by Mwana in his second reply where one region is favoured over the other regions or one community over the others.

@ wilberforce. I like your optimism. But there is more to life than just that. Stay with uncle......... Join sacco....... Buy pickups......... Teach by day....... Taxi by night....... And who isn't doing his bit of this and that? I DO NOT NEED TO SAY.

I think the topic requires some sober comments. We need to ask three questions

Does tribalism exist in the hiring of employees in Kenya? Yes
Is it important for the future of our nation that we eliminate tribalism in employment? Yes
Is the NSE crying out for strong, ethical and forward-looking leadership? Yes

We can then review Mwangi's appointment:
Was appointed CEO because he is a kiuk? Who knows...
Does his appointment send the wrong signals about diversity in Kenya's finance appointments? Maybe
Is he the best man for the job given the situation in the NSE? I very much doubt it..
Does it mean I won't invest at the NSE? Nope
