This will be awesome. Its now fermented in my mind n i have a plan. One question people. How will kplc pay off the 15.9B Debt. If the rights issue is raising 10B? I read they'll pay said debt and still have the 10B. where is the money for paying the debt coming from?

ha ha. I can answer quite a few now. I downloaded it last night, read and internalised it. Re-read the whole thread again and hence the aforementioned fermentation process. But thanks. Do you have an answer for the 15.9B debt, above post.

@aguy...
ok.kplc is repaying the 15.9B debt by converting the 15.9B worth of preference shares to 76 622 891 ordinary shares of kplc.
the conversion rate is ksh 207.5 per preference share of ksh20 par value.
when this is done then it means the gov. gets more shares hence the debt is retired.
the rights issue by kplc is to raise 7 to 10B bob for the company.
the gov. wont take part in the rights issue.

@aguytrying the debt is in the preference shares being converted so in otherwords the debt is being paid of in exchange for an increased stake in the company by G.O.K.....

The 8.795 billion rights issue not 10 billion will be to raise capital for capital expenditure not debt repayment....
