Many airlines break-even at a certain Load Factor (% of the plane being full)... so anything after that is (almost) profit... I think KQ's average break-even LF is 67% [these varies a lot due to multiple factors] so when PLFs exceed 67% by large margins then KQ profits will soar... BTW, I fly KQ & often my flights are chock-a-block... Of course, not all flights are like that... Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - *to paraphrase Warren Buffett*

Business class full without a single user of economy class will still warrant the trip. African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

I remember KQ used to put Airbus 310 on the Dar route for cargo reasons. We would all have fitted in First Class with lots of room to spare.
