614 striking tea pickers have been sacked by Tinderet and Kapchorua Tea Companies [today's DN, p9].

I find this ironical: at a time when we are trying hard to industrialise our economy, workers go on strike to protest the introduction of machinery at the farms.

Do workers have a right to protest the introduction of automated equipment?

In my view, they would only be justified if they were fired without good reason and without compensation.
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

That's a good gesture. They were fighting a losing battle and lied to by Atwoli who came over to incite them not to work yet he was using a chopper.
African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'
