Interesting how James Orengo showed a lot of what sounded like true respect and support to Martha Karua. F***k RAO and Kibs,provide support true reformists and development minded Kenyans like Martha Karua (+ Orengo,+Tuju,+Gakuo,+Michuki,+Githongo,+PLO,+Peter Kenneth,+Bitange Ndemo,+Njoki Ndung'u etc) in 2012. Meanwhile we have close to 4 years to work not politik. Kazi iendelee!

Why is it that people here are not supportive of the new constitution,is it that we don't want proper laws or what.

Even here in the UK,there is some degree of tribalism (only they refer to it as nationalism since a tribe is derogatory and meant to apply to africans). The English look at themselves as superior to the welsh,the scots and the irish etc. They also favour themselves for the better jobs where the last criteria is judgement.

What holds this people together are laws. Kenyans must keep their eye on the ball (a new constitution),there is nothing else we need,we can have central kenya president for eternity and it will not matter if the country's laws are bigger than the people who oversee them.

Please all,lets ensure we have a new progressive constitution by the year end. After that,we can re-evaluate the wannabe leaders. For now its all about tribes.

Shamba la Wanyama defines clearly the state we are in - for as long as guys in ukambani don't have irrigation to take care of perennial drought,guys in Budalangi are not given an answer to the flood problem,guys in the North still stuck in the dark ages,guys in RV are incited over land,guys in coasto still believe they need their guy to run the port,guys in Mt. Kenya still believe they have an inalienable right to the seat and so on and so forth,then we'll still need our politicians to 'solve' these problems for us,not seeing that politicians know that once these problems are solved,the common guy will see the light and no longer need them - and that will be their end. How do you explain Ngilu a few months back being shown on TV at a natural spring hidden in ukambani and claiming she never in her wildest dreams would have thought that such a thing exists in the heartland of ukambani. I have not heard of an irrigation scheme being set up there afterwards. Our situations of scarcity mentality allow these Mpigs to continue with their bullshit. And they're all the same,every single one of them. What we need is to close our ears and vote each one of them out come next election,both the new and old guard,and get an untainted lot into the mix of things. But without a consitution to put things right as it were and correct all the pasr errors of the Kenyatta,Moi & now Baks regime,our dreams will remain just that. I only pray I can witness change in my lifetime,and am in my late 20's. But I will be content with a good life for our future generation

Yes I voted for Kibaki. 'Kazi Iendelee' I chanted. Fought with Karua & highlighted genocide of the Kiambaa Church...

That was then,as of now Kibaki,Kimunya,Michuki,Ruto,Muthaura,Muhoho,Makwere,Gacheru,Ali,Wako,are all against the Reforms that Kenya needs. Yet these people have the real power.

The reforms,progressive agenda,that will see Kenya achieve its breakthroughs,will not be realized in the hands of these people...

We need People who are hiding in NGO's in the helm of our Nation...

We can have running clean drinking water everywhere in the country,

We can have good healthcare,good education,good jobs,

We can live peacefully/ work with/ share happy and sad moments with each of our different tribes friends. We are better than what our leaders think of us...

Really hope the youth will not disappoint again in 2012. I fully support the drive for & enactment of a new constitution. But I think its impact is over-rated. We must tone down our expectations.

I have a feeling that Kenyans will be much more disappointed than they were after NARC's 2002 victory once the excitement fades away and reality checks in. It will be very similar to what we experienced once there was no longer a Moi-figure to blame all our problems on. We'll need a new 'high'...

One of our biggest drawbacks is a lack of respect for the law...and it is happening under the old constitution...and will continue under the new constitution... unless we learn to enforce the letter and spirit of the law & change the way we do our politics

But that said,a new constitution will be an important step forward for Kenya as a growing democracy...

Kenya has improved significantly post Moi. Granted the gava has not moved an inch but the rest of kenyans have improved.

There are more opportunities albeit for the well off,look around you at the number of private universities keeping money home that used to go overseas.

Move around and see how much the CDF's are doing at the grassroots.

There is more transparency,and while small corruption is still there,the grand theft is now discovered in its early stages.

You say kenyans do not obey the law,I say you are wrong,where the law is clear,most kenyans will follow it.

It is only in ambiguos situations when following the law is fullhardy and down right silly that kenyans like any sane person opt to bend them,a quick example is a traffic cop who offers you an option to give TKK or have your car towed to the cop station (while it can move) from where unclear charges will be leveled against you,and also where any complaints you make will attract no sympathies from their superiors. Why bother following the law when the law itself will not be served by your actions. Just take the short and easier route coz you have no option.

A new constitution will not magically place food on anyone's table (SA has one of the best constitutions in the world but still has its challanges),but for those of us who are willing to work hard and honestly,it will improve our opportunities for a better life.

It is not about our past,it is about our future. Thus I am calling on the Kibaki's of tommorow to step up and take on leadership.

Kenyan's are very resourceful. If Uganda is growing at 6.6%,Tanzania 7.3%,Rwanda 6%,Sudan 8.2%,Ethiopia 10.2%,Kenya 2.8%.

If the benchmark is other countries around us then Kibaki is a total mess. We could be doing better. These guys in power are so stingy that they cannot believe that they are the reason why we do not have progress.

Allow reforms and let the future take care of the future. The media is a friend of the people. All our intelligent youth are either in the Media,NGO's,or universities. They are locked out of political power because they do not have money to campaign.

People with great Ideals like Lumumba,others with conscience like Githongo,others with courage like Maina Kiai,Mwalimu Mati,Okolloh...

Give these people real power,and see the giant leaps we Kenya will make...
