Irene Jerotich takes gold in women marathon followed home by Irene Mogaka.The curtain downer though was John Eriku and a bronze by Tirop Matui...What a way to close the games....BTW,We've just finished a mere bronze away from SA....Great!!

That was a great performance from the Kenyan team, if not for that Kiprisio guy from Uganda, SA would have finished way behind us...Kudos boys n' girls!!!!

......Our ndugus have produced exceptional boxers (the three Matimla brothers are a good example) and middle distance runners too.I think they have some two silver medals from the 1980 Moscow olympics......In the CW games,their first ever medal was Edinburgh 1970

Kenya - 169 and that includes 59 golds

And to think that Kenya did not take the cream in several events.I believe even the Ugandan would have found the going very difficult.
