despite being assured by the sunday nation that their sharpest and bravest columnist would be back in yesterday's paper, well,he never appeared. NMG should apologize to the readers for giving a false promise, call it a lie if you like! it's been 2 weeks now and mutahi ngunyi has been awol, without any good reason to his millions of adoring fans. could it be because of that article he wrote criticizing heavily his fellow community about 3 weeks ago? or maybe he asked for a payrise since he earns only 150k per article? i guarantee you the sales of sunday nation will dip sharply unless bwana ngunyi is returned with immediate effect. i for one will not be buying the paper again unless...........

ngunyi was spotted at a chinesse 'used books' flea market. he needs the old books to 'copy paste' tales of talking frogs, nude kings etc and all those ancient stories he uses to 'clarify' his points...has anyone ever bothered to verify some of those loooong tales

ave tried to contact mutahi but so far my emails and calls have gone unanswered. so far ave tried thru his websites: http://www.tch.co.ke/ and http://www.mutahingunyi.com/ unless anyone has other means to get hold this guy.

this was his 2nd last article and oh boy didn't he get a blacklash from his fellow tribesmen!

... Retaining a job, whether partime or full time,at Nation media depends on how the CEO wakes up... Its like he spends all his time checking who to fire next...silly!!!

PS: I have never worked for Nanion and have never been fired...

This is my theory and the Nation could have goofed. The article Mutahi- aka professor of politics- did about three or so weeks in which he criticesed his ethnic political ethic was truly in his style. If you recall it was the same style he applied when analysing the election results before the final report-in which he offered the president some wisdom .

I fear that the article in question was not well received in many quarters, and perhaps even the nation suffered some heat for publiching it. However, the nation in some quarters if perceived to be pro -establishement,asking Mutahi to take off just complicates the outcome.-a very undesirable consequence. Not only will his readers miss his but the nation will miss the assessment of being truly objective in the eyes of many readers. The loss is to the shareholders of the nation. It is reported that sales in parts of Kenya plummeted because of this perceived bias in the not so recent past

also with this guy mutuma mathiu have not seen his article for a while now he used to make my day with his bulls**t articles. this guys must now be taking the readers for a ride. they think to grow is to mature never ever without the two.

et all

mutuma mathiu was promoted. he's now the managing editor of sunday nation. there's a rumour doing rounds that NMG bosses have been getting lots of mid-night calls from the big house on the hill coz mutahi ngunyi has been quite a pain in the azz...the powers that be got arritated as he kept repeating that kibz was sworn in at night...he he he ..which is true anyway. with ngunyi away,it just hurts...real bad...right to the back tooth. sundays will never be the same.....and who can forget the stinky-sensational- scandals at NMG?

I miss the New York times pullout. That paper had info. They had articles about our country which we do not get in our local media. From details and photos of PEV,ongoings at Lamu and the Kenya - Somali border.

Nation is not the same.

Alas!,i had started switching to the standard, begun with my preference for the Friday Standard,if they get Ngunyi for Sunday,i will make another step away from DN. As much as his opinions are not far beyond thorough thought, innuendo, gimmickry etc. they are better than the others and an enjoyable read. Which is what matters most in writing for the public.

I think we are slowly losing it.

The only people who can read through a Mutahi Ngunyi piece is anyone who wants to hear a demented mind speaking.

Honestly, can you remind me of one thing that made sence?

Oh,I remember one.

A certain King of Russia......yada yada yada

I know that to some people, writing an article quoting some far flung emperor seems learned, but really......

Kibaki,,,,,,I really don't understand the man......Then tells us another story of the emperor of China who.......

Come on people....I never finished any of his convoluted, cumbersome and plain boring,'belong in a classroom',not to be taken seriously in real life ideas.

Please remind me of one article he wrote that you remember that I will remember.....

Of course don't mention 'Kifakee' or 'Rairaa' in the same sentense.

Well... maybe the CEO of NMG (who apparently hails from the same tribe as Mutahi) was not happy or got calls from up there?
**-** 150k per article.. wow... that is 600k/month = 7.2mn/year...
