Okey here's a serious topic!

Kenyan MPs have passed a bill with an overwhelming majority to nearly halve the number of ministries from 40 to 24 in a bid to cut costs.

The 42-member cabinet and the more than 50 assistant ministers have come in for criticism from taxpayers.

The cabinet was formed last year after a power-sharing deal was brokered by international mediators to end deadly post-election ethnic violence.

The bill must be signed by the president before it becomes law.....aheeem WILL HE?

If approved by President Mwai Kibaki,it would take effect in the next parliament.

MPigs have such short memories. What is the reason we have a bloated government? Because they and their so-called principals decided that the only way to share power was to give all the self-important ones some ministerial post.

Before they talk about reduction of ministries nyef nyef let them first pass a bill to reduce their salaries to 300k maximum per month. And pay taxes on that too!!

A lean cabinet is a good move but not a great solution to the non performance and ambiguity that has plagued almost all ministries. In effect staginating development. I'd prefer to have a 20 member cabinet appointed from various best performing CEOs in the country.

And the next paliament will come and reammend it to the present one.

A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing posibility.
