From newspaper sub-agent employed by a vendor and selling less than 100 copies in 2004 to unofficial distributor selling 1,000 copies and with 3 taxis (2 "new") in 2010. You call that "too long" What were you earning in 2004 and what are you earning today? Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

But even a mad man can see two things in @...foolish, @kirita and @...Wangu: 1) an ostrich which buries its head in the sand not to 'see' trouble, and 2) A threesome drunk in too much emotion. You are counseled to always temper emotion with some reason. What I described about Mbogo and retrogressive politics is drawn out of a REAL case that happened in 2007/8. The similarity: like Mbogo, the 'victim' was a taxi baron. We must confront the past - it has solutions for the future.

So unless you have a sit down with Mbogo and really have a heart to heart and honest chat with him, you may be wrongly ascribing his success to the Taxi business. It could be the taxi business but it could be any number of factors.

I will soon be paying 2000 shillings for my NHIF rate (PS: This is already higher than my AAR rates which come to 17k per year after my no claim bonus). My direct tax is already 30% of my monthly income and the indirect taxes are still hitting through VAT etc. I then though about mbogo the hard working Taxi driver/ new paper vendor/ super businessman. Do you think mbogo income tax to KRA? How much NHIF will he be paying? Mbogo most probably earns much more than I do but I should still support him by paying more for my NHIF. Mbogo and other slum lord millionaires should pay their dues. KRA and NHIF should set up shop in these slums and demand for their dues. Mbogo should be the rallying cry of the already over taxed and over burdened white collared Kenyans. MBOGO SHOULD PAY TAXES AND INCREASED NHIF RATES!!! @ Conquistidor sarcasm is always lost in Wazua! It takes a bright mind to get it.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
