My fear is that Zain is not through with the price wars. It has nothing to loose and all to gain by a further price reduction to below Ksh 3 per minute..

@Stocksmaster,
Zain is already offering calls at below 3 bob across network.Work it out for those who are still stuck with old (Peculiar?)....NO?.I get 50% bonus every time i load my Zain line.smile.

@Stockmaster,

There is also lost market share. Despite the reduction in rates by Safcom, there is the clients who moved from Safcom to Zain. That should also have quite an effect.

Someone will have to quantify it......Sad

Why all this double standard?? You always talk of people who cross from safcom to zain and never talk of those who ditch zain to safcom!you mean hakuna?

You'd leave 1 bob sms to pay 3.50?

Or 3 bob calls to pay 5 bob?

The number of people who ditch saf for zain are more than th reverse.
Half of the guys who claim to be zainees have an idditional green line. Anyone disputing this?

I would certainly ditch 3 bob calls to call at Kshs 2. 90% of my phone book is still Safaricom after all. This is NOT because I love Safaricom. At the moment, I still feel they are offering me the best value to call SCOM numbers. If that changes, I am out of there!

As for SMS, I hardly use them, but I am willing to pay the occasional 3.50, since I spend most money on voice.

For Data, I am on Orange, although I flirted with the 999 offer which is NOT great!

As for the share, I will buy it (if at all) when I am ALMOST certain it cannot fall any further.

All said & done... Safaricom profits will be down in this year!
