Twaf! Twaf! Clap clap!
Yesterday night Mike Sonko's entourage is obstructed by a white van which has stopped to pick a passenger. His entourage overtakes the van and bodyguards come out of the car and seriously clap the guy. All passengers in the car are made to lie on the ground. One bodyguard says 'mwacheni huo ni DJ Leo'. Mike Sonko shakes the DJ's hand and says 'DJ chunga maisha, unaweza kufa Nairobi hii'.

Unfortunately DJ Leo's 9yr old niece is in the car and traumatised - she didn't go to school today. After the scuffle, DJ Leo is hurting and talks to employer, Capital FM, who publicise the story.

Capital FM calls Martha Karua and soon after a call with Mike Sonko who says he's very sorry. But he's life is in constant danger, MP Were had an unfortunate incident on the roads, and this DJ's van was constantly blocking him. He also claims the guys were drunk at night. Unfortunately DJ Leo is a tee-totaller.

Which Wazuan was admonishing our election choices? I read sarcastically, but I'm now whimpering in embarrassment.

Unnecessary trauma for kenyans.

Makadara voters saw something other kenyans missed. Or is it they did not see something other Kenyans saw?

The young in power with nothing but brawn are 20 steps back for governance...

Karua can do without thugs! Or?

Is this for real? Makes you wonder what the cry of the young generation is all about as while others send threatening texts to others we come up with one with illusions of power going all the way to the head. And I think that we are only hearing of this DJ Leo fiasco because he works for Capital. I wonder how many people have been beaten up by this Sonko guy and just swallowed it coz no one cares.

I abhor the American culture of everyone suing everyone else for all sorts of real and imaginary stuff but it might work in this case.

If the guy could sue this Sonko fellow for all kind of stuff - mental distress, loss of business, public humiliation and anything else his lawyer comes up with and is awarded approx. 100m, it might tame Sonko and his ilk. I know you are wondering 100m??? Yeah 100m!! That's what happens in the west. The judge or the jury make sure you feel the pinch. The richer you are, the higher the award! Now, Sonko might be rich [by Kenyan standards] but he would surely feel the pinch of a 100m - even 20m.

That might not happen in Kenya any time soon though [New constitution not withstanding]. You know what they say: "Why hire a lawyer when you can buy the judge?". Sonko would buy everyone including the cleaners at the high court and you might find yourself paying him the [inflated] cost he incurred due to the lawsuit!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

As far as Kenyan politicians go, i think it is only fair to judge a book by its cover.

But perhaps it's a condition affecting new rise to power. Once remember overhearing a story from a friend about how Murgor as DPP went to a shooting range. When he saw an old man shooting aside, before him, he paused and shifted uncomfortably.

He went and requested his guards to ask the man to give way. Little did he know, the man was an old-timer at that shooting range, had very close links to political establishment, and was much more wealthly plus chair of several local public/investment companies.

Major Oops! The DPP had to wait his turn.

I think this was a bad choice by Makadara. Anyway, let's give him time. Let's hope it will not be to late to correct after 700 days.
