@qw many big companies consider Africa's purchasing power to be too low to take the chance. With internet companies like ebay, this is compounded by Africa's low internet penetration levels as well.

....this is good news. I have an I&M bank account and very happy. I buy for ebay and collect my stuff without hassles. Looking forward to selling on ebay.

Just curious - what kind of stuff do you usually buy...

Electronics? Computer stuff? Car stuff?

@wanjirus my advice would be to look for a seller that ships worldwide or at least in Kenya as well.

When doing your search for the product make sure have entered your Geo Location then in the results select sort by Price + shipping.

That way you will be able to locate sellers that can ship to Kenya. Good Luck!

Which search engines enable you to do this ? Google product search & yahoo shopping don't seem to recognize Kenya ? Sad

@capri .stop using only one brain cell. Lol ! If you want to buy stuff from sellers that ship worldwide y nt go to ebay.com . Then when searching for the product you want to buy add 'ships worldwide ' in your search preferences.
IMPORTANT : ensure that your ebay seller has good reviews from other customers. I try as much 2 go 4 power sellers or an equivalent wen ever possible.
Right now i am shoppin 4 a blackberry phone. Y nt buy it in kenya ? Kwanza it hasnt arrived then they have great discounts.

It started on saturday. It's only the first step. what they are now looking for is a local bank that they feel comfortable with..(that's the one I'll buy shares in.lol)

As for those with withdrawal issues. I cannot emphasize the need to follow paypal terms. Right now you cannot withdraw directly from your local bank account unless via US banks.

the immediate solution which is legal is

1. stop using the us or uk based paypal accounts to receive your money.
2. receive your funds in your local paypal accounts and last
3. send the money to your friends paypal account who should send you a paypal card to withdraw the funds from here.

there is more that one can do but unfortunately, this is a public forum....

It is now more important NOT to login to any other paypal account ( ie your friends or family's) to check your balances especially if you have a local account.

Good luck to all. now ecommerce has come to Kenya.

@alma or sizzla..i need to consult you urgently regarding paypal payments. What's your email or phone contact?
