@pj since you are an experienced trader, my short answers: (a) banks, agriculturals and industrials doing well (b) blue chips are good dividend payers eg eabl, bat, nmg, bbk, scb, total (c) the nse market is not at the bottom in fact its at it highest in last 2 yrs(d) KK has serious problems with the regulatory authorities, IMO the price may take a further beating esp when the results come out. Good for contrarians

This is my advice or my 2 cents as some would say..
KCB. trailing P/E 12.21, forward P/E 9.5, dividend yield 5.35% (note financial sector P/E is 16.45 and average dividend yield is 2.8%)

Jubilee. Trailing P/E of 11, forward P/E of 8.5, dividend yield of 2.3% but always coupled with a bonus.

KPLC. After conversion i expect a total of 185million ordinary shares. Hence a trailing P/E of 11.8 and a forward P/E of 8.7, the conversion of the preference shares should lead to a spike in the dividend yield to above 6%.. (Industrial sector P/E is 14.1 and average dividend yield is 3.3%)

@g267. I have KCB at a forward PE of 8.23 based on an EPS of 2.3 which I have worked out on a doubling of their H1 2010 profit and then applying a weighted average of the shares in issue for 2010. Note New shares only started trading on 19th August.

I am betting that KCB's H2 will at least be as good as the first half considering the new money from the rights issue and that they will not want to be seen to be messing up so soon after coming to the market for money.

For KPLC why do you expect the dividend yield to go up to 6% on the higher number of shares? I would actually expect it to go down (even with an increased DPS) as I expect the price to rally once the restructuring issues are over and done with.

Equity Bank

(b)Which are the best stocks in paying good dividends?

BAT, EABL, etc, see stock fundamentals elsewhere..Total too *but not this year as preference shares dilute dividends.

(c)Which stocks are the best to invest right now as the market is at the bottom?

KCB

(d)What are future of this oil stock company (KenolKobil)(ihave always invested with oil companies and the return is good?)

@mwanahisa KPLC has to pay 1.1billion in interest per year on the prefs.
I expect them to increase their payout ratio as the conversion is completed and the need for capital expenditure reduces.. But that is at least two years away...

And KCB is looking real good now... The weekly volumes show that profit takers from the rights are being flushed out...
