Not true.In Mexico alone 152 confirmed dead............and as i post New-zealand has confirmed a case and there are suspected cases in Brazil,Guatemala,Peru,Australia and South Korea........hapan machezo...!!

Good point @Ob1....every time a minister says the phrase 'swine flu' another child dies of malaria! This thing is just another media hype just like bird flu!

S what if 200 people have died so far? The disease has no cure and it kills quickly,therefore it will extinguish itself!

Malaria,however,is 'PREDICTABLE,PREVENTABLE AND TREATABLE' -to quote Dr. Davy Koech (formerly of KEMRI). It should not be killing anyone.

There was an interesting feature on Al Jazera yesterday about how some Chinese professor has eradicated Malaria from the island of Comoros. But the WHO has refused to certify his method because it has not been published in a 'recognised,refereed scientific journal'

Unfortunately,it has past the stage of containment,meaning we just have to prepare to manage the cases as they come. Waiting for it at the airport is useless. It will come into the country,as its mode of spread is too efficient. Im expecting it in Africa/Kenya before the week's end. Good thing though is the mortality rate is rather low (except for Mexico for so-far unknown reasons). We hope it keeps that way.

Why care of swine flu while I'm struggling with basic treatable malaria,TB,pneumonia,aids with me .... oh oh I forgot I did not eat supper (hunger) and ..... I have no job even after toiling in higher education corridors....

To us with access to newspapers,media and internet we will be worried but to the locals ... homa ya nguruwe call a VET
