Berbatov finally seems to be coming out of his self imposed shell - I think it was clear to everyone that if he doesn't shine this season then he has no future in the club...you can tell in his expressions when he misses a chance especially in front of the OT crowd how it bugs him.

After watching Barca and Real's opening La Liga games, I'll be the first to admit that Barca remain the team to beat in all competitions for the 3rd season running...their football is what every team and coach aspires to play.

The interesting thing about the Inter Auxerre game is that we're sure we'll see Oliech in the game - he plays full 90 minutes, as for Mariga, unless Rafa decides to do him a favour to play a few minutes against his fellow countryman,we can only keep our fingers crossed for him.

I said machini will be sacked by Xmas. I think he'll be sacked earlier. Manshitty are still playing like individuals and he won't manage to keep them all happy.

CL draw...contrary to earlier fears Arsenal were not paired with Real. But in the carling cup Arsenal were handed Spurs! That will be interesting.

The Aston villa v Everton game was breathless. Good end to end stuff! Was game of the week for me.

Is it me or there is something weird with the EPL this season. The sheer number of penalties given in the first three games is huge and the ratio of conversion low.d'oh!

Applause Applause Applause Applause What a goal!!! I'm a big fan of Berbatov. Critics have be so hard on him and everyone acts surprised that SAF has never considered selling him. There was even talk of him being sold at a knock off price this summer. Ooh how I wish he will shine even more to shut all the critics up! The dude has talent and class. All that has been lacking is aggressiveness and hunger. Put that into the mix and we have a contender for top honours!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Jose with his super-paid players drew the first game.

Benitez with three-cup winning heroes drew the first game. After ahving lost to Athletico in some other cup.

Mancini with his super paid players lost their third game.

Between Mancini and Benitez who will shown the door first? Me thinks Rafa.

Barca will be awasome with Mascherano and Villa additions plus offloading Ibra.

With schwarzer -Season closing bado. Anything is possible.

The strike was superb...but me thinks that Berbatov while being a class act doesnt still have the Rooney killer instinct. That will be his long term undoing. Shame on you

Next up for man-u is Everton. With Moyes having come out of a defeat at Aston villa and wanting to correct their poor start to the season...expect a tougher game than the open game West Ham played.d'oh!

Bolton will visit the gunners...and Arsenal will have to take another battering. Same medicine different doctors.d'oh!

Chelsea visit west ham...to continue where Man-u left. Another 6-0.smile

Liverpool visit Birmingham. And try for another lucky escape.Laughing out loudly

The transfer window just ended and no new goalkeeper for Arsenal. Almunia will be in goal for another season! smile

Why couldn't Mr. Bean have just bid for Given? What's his obsession with a 37 year old goalie?

Anyway, maybe Aluminium will now step up his game, just like some people who were left out of the world cup by Capello i.e. Walcott and Scholes.

In other news, with Ibra and Robinho going to AC, what happens to Pato, Klaus, Inzaghi and co?Too many strikers like the Argentina in the world cup!

With window closure, now comes focus on the bread and butter issues of the EPL.

What do you think of this happenings at Chelsea:

1)Essien takes a break from Ghana duty.
2)Drogba takes a break from Ivory coast duty
3)Terry takes a break to recover from Hamstring
4)Lampard takes a break for a hernia operation

Why would the spine of the team take a break? Me thinks that they are focussing/saving up for the 5th game of the season against Mancity

Smano Klaus has moved to Schalke....

The transfer window has closed, Wenger hasn't signed a new keeper as promised....i'm disappointed but that won't stop Arsenal from winning trophies this season. Alumina is not the best keeper in EPL but just look at the following stats from last season

Chelsea….Goals scored 103, Goals against 32
Man Utd… Goals scored 86, Goals against 28
Arsenal…. Goals scored 83, Goals against 41
Spurs…. Goals scored 67, Goals against 41
Man City... Goals scored 73, Goals against 45
Fulham… Goals scored 39, Goals against 46

The only problem i have with Almunia is that he does not produce world class saves in big matches...otherwise he's just as clumsy as everyone else. Defenders are the players who are supposed to protect the keeper that's why i'm relieved we've gotten rid of Silvestre, Gallas & Campbell.

@TAZ..arsenal defence has gotten tighter. And having shown lack of faith in Almunia, Wenger should have done all he could to land a new keeper. Now Arsenal have to endure a season with a keeper whose loyalty has been punctured. Why should Almunia make a game saving save if he knows he is not wanted?

The keeper protection by defenders especially for error-prone goalkeepers means those overlapping defenders (song, sagna) have to be more careful not to be caught out be long balls on counter attack

My sentiments exactly. Capello actually had Scholes called up but he [Scholes] refused - because it was a day to the announcement of the squad - too late - and capello had him called by someone else instead of doing it himself.

Let us not demonstrate our ignorance in public!!

I totally agree! I'm sure Arsenal will retain all the trophies they won last season. And the one before that. And the one before that...
