it might be a long wait! this guys are characterized by low prices model in India and in all the markets they have gone to....I think it is time for Safcom to shape up and stop taking their customers for granted......they do not have an option of hiking!!

Access is a true example of a disaster... Its managing to pull off 55% profit declines in a strong economy... If you still own access your in for some bad days ahead... And believe me it doesn't pay to hold on to crap... (Ask the guys who know about my kenya re jubilee transaction)

Meanwhile as we wait we enjoy the low zain rates.

Every company has its ups and down, very few companies on the NSE have had a clean nose, am sure AK started working around the board and cables issues, thats where thier problem was.

They are selling in panic, fearing that the share will crash, most are just selling to hold thier money.

well that might be true for speculators but think of it in the long run, with examples of KQ, KCB among others

@guru kcb is def a good buy coz its under-valued viz its peers. selling saf to buy kcb is not wise because saf is a market leader in its industry, has no peers and in any case has been preparing itself for lower AARPU on voice. @jamani those holding cash during this sweet bull will regret.

@deal and all those who are aganist bharti. Stop ignorance. First study their widely adopted model. If bharti were to replicate their indian model in kenya i believe they cn bag a huge chunk of the 5 bob economy. And lets face it thats where the real money is @ .

I see scom reaching 4.00 bob . Coz definately the future is bleek as far as voice revenue is concernd.
No one cn convince me that scom's revenues willnt continue dwindling as the statutory rates keep on falling year after year. And mj will be lossing more hair than his bald cn allow !!!

Qw, Well what you state above is true, infact safaricom themselves have said this in many words in thier report for 2009. They expected the numbers to go down by about 10 to 15% if i can remember well and also voice revenue to come down. But profits they will still maintain similar to last year or with a slight increase. As for zain, well being philathropic is good but not directly to your business, they have made a nice try but a wrong move, i wish them well however safaricom will still be the market leader and i also expect thier price to come lower than 4 due to panic selling so that i can stock-up even more...... am not trying to convince you or anyone else this is just my opinion and you can hold yours thats what makes this forum what it is

apparently data & mpesa contributed to around 50% of Safcom profits...MJ is really walking the talk..so if voice revenues fall by half, data will atleast save the day...expect vigorous expansion into the isp business...I hope BOB-CALL-MORE will have a clear strategy like MJ....heck even Safcom bank.
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.
